Ungrateful animals

I don't know if it's that or more likely that they're just smarter than me. I sat here until twenty five after eight watching it rain, thinking I needed to get some bales in the feeders. So I put on my heavy coveralls and headed out. By the second bale, not one of the cows had taken a step out of the barn. By now the water was reaching my skin. I dropped one more bale in and came back in the house. If they're smart enough to get in out of the rain,I guess I'd better follow suit.

As long as they're people who are smart enough to come in out of the rain I guess. LOL

Tech ...... you're on the wrong forum. I think there might be some talking and writing animal forums out there someplace, do a Google search.

They must have checked accuweather.[b:e61aa10ee4]cow[/b:e61aa10ee4].

Rain stopped and sun shining after 0930 down here. You should have just waited a couple hours

Fed my critters in the rain too. Still wet down the back of my neck and pant legs. We got ponds in the pastures. Sheep swimming lessons this afternoon.

I remember dad telling about trying to get the loafing shed done before a big storm was coming in- worked on it after evening milking until about 9 PM, got done, slid open the door and herded the cows in, and went to bed. Went out in the morning and there was one little Jersey heifer in there, all the milk cows were out laying under the trees.

Ya,it's gotta get pretty bad for them to stand inside, but it was there this morning. I should have taken a lesson from them.

Feeding horse I slipped and went down on all fours. The horse decided they could get to the feed pail and the first got a bite and another pushed her out of the way to get herself a bite causing the first one to step on both of my hands. Thru the insulated gloves my left hand has bruise mark about the size of a quarter and it pushed the thin skin away from the back of the right hand about the size of a dime. It is a good thing for them that I take so much joy in working with them.

Old joke......

How can you tell a farmer from a dog when they are both standing out in the rain?

If you let them in, the dog will stop whining.....

Ben

Is that kind of like locking your wife and your dog in the trunk for an hour and see which one still likes you when you let them out? LOL
