Z134 running rough. Checked compression 120 on 2 cylinders 122 on 2 cylinders. completely overhauled carb, replaced coil and points. Replaced spark plugs. Cleaned fuel tank and put in fresh gas. It has new distributer cap and sp wires. Any Ideas?

Trouble shoot.
#1 check that you have a good blue/white spark at the center wire of the cap and at all the plugs that jump a 1/4 inch gap or more.
#2 pull the carb drain plug and make sure you have a steady flow of gas that will fill a pint jar in under 3 minutes.
#3 check the air filter and make sure it is not full of mud and water
#4 pull the air cleaner tube of and hold you hand over the air intake while trying to start it. You should get a good suction and also get gas on your hand when you do that

I have adjusted valves .15 cold is correct. Had one exaust valve that wasn't closing originally, only 30lb compression, corrected that, it obviously runs better but still not acceptable.

Did the distributor check out?

Side play in the shaft, needs to be very little, the points will not stay set if any play.

Also the centrifugal advance may be stuck, springs rusted or missing.

Check for vacuum leaks around the intake gasket, carb gasket.

Does the idle mixture adjust as it should? If it won't adjust, makes little or no difference when adjusting, could be a blockage in the idle circuit or air bleed circuit.

Was the throttle plate loosened, shaft removed or changed? It must be centered in the bore correctly for the idle circuit to work.

One other thing, take a look at the plugs.

If one cylinder was low on compression due to the tight valve, that cylinder may have been loaded up with oil.

It may have splashed the new plug, fouled it out.
