Need parts info on a 620 John Deere

Did some repairs on the power steering on my 620 John Deere, now putting it back together.
I went to John Deere to get the shims that go between the steering column and the spline
gear from the steering shaft. There are various thickness sizes, real thin, and are used to not only
be a gasket, but also shims to adjust the tolerances between the spline and the steering
column. My problem, when I went to John Deere they cannot find those parts. They gave me
some, but they are not the right ones. Any suggestions where I could find either the correct
part number or else purchase those shims from another manufacturer?
Thanks.

Are you aware that you can download the parts manual from the John Deere website?

Also - you can order parts right there from your computer. If you have a dealer nearby, they ship to the dealer and you can pick them up with no added shipping. It works good for me on the parts that must be bought from Deere.

I'll bet you already knew this, but just in case. . .

The gasket/shims for the steering worm housing for the 620 are shown on pages 50-6 and 50-7 of the parts manual. It is key #32 in the drawing.

Part numbers are:
F1706R
F2346R

I would assume that one number is for thick shims and the other is for thin shims. It does not differentiate which is which.

I may be confused on what part you are talking about.

You can download the 620 parts catalog (in .pdf format) for free at the official DEERE site linked below. At that point, you will have the part numbers for the shims of various thicknesses.

If you need ones that are nla from Mother DEERE, a 'net search MAY turn up alternative sources.

The shim gasket between the worm gear and sector are the F1706R and F2346R. The F1706R is .005 thick and the F2346R is .007 thick. Measure your old gasket pack, and put in new about that thick. I have two 1706 gaskets and two 2346 gaskets new in package if you want to buy? By the way, these gaskets measure 6.75 inches by 5.00 inches plus or minus.

Thanks guys, that is just the advice I needed. Will get those parts and
get back to work. Have a great weekend, we are supposed to get some snow
here in Colorado finally. Our mountains and the front range really need it.
Maybe I can plow some snow now!!!!

Thanks, how much do you want for those four shims? I would be interested in purchasing them.
Will also check and see if JD can come up with them. I live in Colorado, but those shims
are not that heavy, so mailing should be possible.
