GALION HOIST

Have an old Galion Hoist we want to use as a dump trailer. Need information, we have the Hoist number and Type number. What rpm is the pump supposed to run at and where is the plug to add or check the oil level?

Is there a site that specializes in old construction equipment like this?

Bill

The pump will work with pto speeds 500 900 rpm.

There is a plug at the top of the Cyl. barrel for adding oil.
Be sure to block securely whatever you have raised so when you remove the plug it don't come down which it will if not
Secured.

Oil level is usually 4" below the plug.
If you over fill it will spew out the vent.

Like tgp says 500 to 900 will work . The speed is not going to be real important , not near as much as getting it to turn the right direction. Some of the older pumps you could move the input from one shaft to the other. IF you plug is not in top of the lift cylinder as he noted it may be the latter hoist and used a round cross member as the tank and fill is in top of that round cross member.

Thank you. The hoist # is 111090 and the type is GH567, would either of you have a service or parts manual? I have added my e-mail for you to send pictures to.

How about any old construction equipment bulletin boards?
