Under ground fuel tank

Anyone have an underground fuel tank any more? Dad had one on the farm. When he sold the place in the 50's.Someone dug the tank out of the ground. First thing Dad did was check the tank for leaks. My older brother had a car, and Dad thought he was taking gas. I think Dad was Right. The pump had a handle Dad would hide, but my brother managed to find it. The pump was fairly tall, and had a glass bowl you could see the gas as it was pumped out. Be kind of nice to have the pump now. Then it would just be another thing sitting around. Stan

The farm gas tank is one of the perks of growing up on the farm. That and freezer beef, and sometimes motor oil. Got to get something for all those extra hours helping the old man. Sure didn't ever get a paycheck!

No telling what the cost of the tank, permits and red tape it would take to put an inground tank in today in this environmental crackpot world we live now.

Those antique gas pumps with the glass bowl on top are very collectible and quite pricey. A few years ago I thought I wanted one, but when I found out what I would have to pay, I decided that maybe I didn't want one after-all.

My Grandpa's farm had in ground tank and the tall pump with a glass top marked with gallons. My uncle used to fill up his car with tractor fuel all the time. It was mostly gasoline. I always wanted that old pump and my uncle sold it to some guy for $50.
I was not happy.

I know when I left the generator business. The average manual for installing a tank. Had twenty pages of rules you had to meet.
