In 1967 Our family had a lake created by the construction of I-94 my dad did research prior to signing and found that he could
design the contours extents and slopes of the borrow pit. He created a 2 hectare ~8.4 acre lake we enjoy to this day. The clay
was used to fill a peat bog 20 to 50 feet deep where I-94 crosses it. Very near perfect. Jim

I've seen several places along interstate hwy system where the state and feds secured borrow for fill and left the landowners with nice lake/ponds. gobble

Yep, all 42 bales. On the bright side all that burned grass, and hay makes nitrogen so when the bales stop smoking (about at least a week) we'll plow the field, spread all that hay out, and disk it in.
