Got me stumped

Picked this up from our freight forwarder this past week. The company that does our home deliveries.
It was shipped on 11/27; we hauled it down here; it went to the freight forwarder to be delivered; when the called to set up a delivery appointment the woman canceled the order. So we picked it back up to send it back to home depot.

What I can not figure out is why someone that lives in SE La on the I 12 I 10 corridor would order a snow thrower in the first place. Got to be a real interesting story behind this one. Problem is our office girl that handles these things was on vacation this past week so I could not find out any details.

The horror stores I could tell you about internet sales is endless.

Thats a good one LOL. But while we are talking Snow Blowers or Throwers I always thought a 2 stage was a blower and a single stage was a thrower. It must be I am wrong because it clearly said 2 stage snow thrower. Yrs. ago I had a Sears lawn tractor with a snow thrower attachment that had a solid auger that spun real fast to throw the snow and I was told that it was a thrower not a blower. I can also tell you it didn't work worth a darn. Can someone shed some light on that?

Flembo, I think that you may be right. Terminology is of course constantly changing, but the ones that are mounted on lawn tractors are usually just a fast turning auger, while a walk behind usually has both a slower turning auger and the blower behind it. When you watch the two operate you see a huge difference in how far the snow goes.

Ronnie;
At first I thought the woman put in the wrong zip code because that is something you have to type in when ordering over the internet.
In other words she does not even live down here.
But her phone number has a local area code.

Choosing the item involves no typing.
Its just mouse clicking on order this.
I guess the home depot computer could have messed up and ordered the wrong item.
In other words the lawn mower page really orders a snow thrower.
If that is the case someone at home depot is in deep doo doo.

Maybe she heard sow was coming and wanted to be ready? Seriously folks down in that part of the country have an almost irrational fear of snow. Another possibility was she was purchasing it for someone else and messed up the shipping or wanted it there in Louisiana to give to them as a gift.
