too cold to work outside so have been cleaning in the house.in the bottom of one cabinet found a Dec 1966 issue of the Minnesota Farmer magazine. Lot less big ads and more info than todays publications. One big ad is by new Idea introducing hyd or manual lift end gates for there spreaders. Also a slurry pan was a cheaper option to keep the roads clean. Next page was an ad extolling the wonders of atrazine. Market report: Choice steers [S St Paul mkt] 23.75 cows 14 to 16.25 feeder steers 26.50 wheat 1.91 corn 1.31 beans 2.92 milk 4.52 milk cows 290/hd. Realtor ad; Wisc farms 85 to 175/ acre. trouble is most of the articles make more sense to me than most in todays publications.

Have something similar here in Canada in a collection of 50s and 60s mags called Country Guide, I recall Pops always turning to the weathers forecast page first.

DCM ...... and today a guy would simply go over to your laptop or iPhone and check out the forecast. How things have changed.

That is exactly what we do, but... I still leaf through looking up the full page implement and tractor ads

Some years ago when I worked for a newspaper, we moved a cabinet away from a wall and found a 40 year old copy of the paper. Hamburgers were a nickel, etc. Interesting. The same issue of the paper was in the archives in the basement, but we never bothered to look at them.
