95 cummins/dodge heater controls

My Truck is just broke in at 350,00 0 miles,,.but the Modern B?S heater controls dont work ,,. i have searched the net for info and just dont seem to be getting to the meat and potatoes of the problem ,. can anyone direct me to a link that describes either the possible repair of those pesky actuator motors i wish someone had stuck uptheiraz..or better yet where to drill a hole or place ablock of wood or something that makes heat come thru the dash , defrost , floor !,,.anything is better than nothing !!,.,I think the heat door is shut.. the air kinda move from one level to another ,,. but it is not impressive .THANK YOU in advance Jim

Don't know if this will work for a 95 but here are some videos for 2005. Mine only has 467000 on it and original brakes.

Could be the blend door could be the cable that runs the heat down on the hvac box . Not all years have the motor some do some don?t my late 93 manufacture date didn?t have the motor my 98 also doesn?t have the motor I put up with no heat for 3 years finally took it to town becuse the heater core was leaking it was an 800$ repair job but I now have heat again sad thing Is you have to pull the dash out to get to the heater core and even the lower end of the cable on these . I would check out

The HVAC temp control on that truck is cable operated. If you twist the temp knob quickly from hot to cold you should be able to hear the door thump when it stops both ways, this tells you if it's moving all the way and sealing shut on the case.

Another thing if the above seems ok is the heater core being clogged. With engine warm, pop hood and feel both heaters hoses, both should be hot, the return hose might be slightly cooler but make sure its not cold. I assume you verified the engine is reaching operating temp.

I'm pretty sure they went from cable to electronic temp blend door actuators in '99, my 98 is still cable. The rest of the functions are vacuum, fed from a vacuum pump on engine.

I had a 94' which was the first year for that model. I had to replace the actuator and the heater core at separate times. If you don't hear the fresh air diverter door opening and closing when you go from hot to cold, you'll need to replace the actuator.

I have a PDF file of the whole big service manual for the 95 Ram I downloaded years ago. (also have a hard copy I bought when I bought my 95 Cummins new.) It covers most everything. I can email a copy if you want but its a huge file.

Actually I just looked online and believe this is the same thing I have. Might be easier to download it here.

My email wont let me send the pdf file. It says it too large. The manual is over 1700 pages. See if you can download it from the link above. If not let me know and Ill see what other option I can think of.

OK, try clicking on the last link I attempted to post. You should be able to view it online there as well as download it.
