Getting ready for the storm

Put fuel in the JD 4250 which is the loader tractor. Put ballast back on 4250 3 point with other tasks complete. Started 986, 4010, and 8430 to make sure batteries are up and fuel systems functioning. Yeah, they don't plow snow but you never know when you might need them anyways. Snow fence did not go up earlier in the season due to illness and later light frost so the 50 foot roll went up this PM. Put wagons back inside from making a run to the elevator yesterday. Topped off fuel in the pickup truck and got groceries. Went to TSC as I needed a few posts as a few must have been used elsewhere this summer. While I moved the 8430 closer to the garage I picked up extension cord and moved it as well. Checked heating oil tank and it is on predicted level so good for another month. Went over to scrap yard and nosed around. No equipment goodies but somebody chucked out a good can of Castle penetrating oil so I picked it up. Brought mail up for wife since it is supposed to be crappy by the time she gets home. Fed the cats but I do that anyways. I did this while wishing I had the money to do some work on the pole barn roof plus wish I had more storage space inside. The Oliver 88 is sitting out right now. As Tim S would say "darn it."

We have no place to go; pantry is still well stocked with caned goods from garden, and lots of stuff in freezers, and Lots of wood in woodshed yet. You can bust your butt to get to town or work, but neither the wifey or I have to get anywhere for the next few days.
Retirement is great!!!

The storm moved thru here today and lucky we did not get much. I was ready for it tho,had the blade on the 4250 and generator on the 4230. Like you I keep the 8430 ready to pull things out,it's came in real hand before.
