Some sanding and several coats of paint and Deere
decal the tool box turned out pretty good

And you saved probably $100 over a similar one from the dealer, lol. It looks real good, especially with that "classic" decal.

Pretty fancy, looks nice and reminds me that I bought a tool box about five years ago at the Rock river threshing show. Was never used, came with brkts. and instructions, was going to paint it and mount it on my Super M like the one we had on an M when I was a kid.

The box isn?t to bad a price from the dealer but the bracket to mount it costs more than the box ! I had one of the newer style boxes laying around bolted it to the 4020 I?d like to clean it up and paint it next need to find the back and silver decal for it . I think the factory style box from John Deere is like 57$

My recliner doesn't require a too box, but I DO have a beverage holder close by. Big enough for big mug of coffee in morning and convenient for barley pops in evening.
Sorry, Green does not make me all warm and squirmy.

Well we can't all like the same things . I've always been a John Deere man but maybe someday I'd like to own another brand Ford probably will be my next choice

AND, the Deere logo you chose I like a thousand times better than todays logo, which I call the broke legged Deere...

When I ran a welding shop, we made tool boxes about like that. They were 17 inches long, 6 inches wide and deep, Lid had 1n turned down. John Deere fan said he did not need one because a JD never broke down and in the case one did, he only needed a pair of pliars

The trouble with most tool boxes is they are to small. Have to pack everything in there just right to get the lid shut and then you have to dig everything out and balance it on the cab step to get that 9/16 wrench out and then try and fit it all back in just right. Ever notice the tool you need is always on the bottom?

You know I have 4 John Deeres and that is what I like most, but I am starting to appreciate Fords as well. My father in law gave me his Ford 4000 4-cyl a couple years ago since he no longer could garden. That thing is really handy on the produce farm! I had also bought a New Holland (modern day Ford) and it is my newest and all-around go to tractor. Then I bought a Ford 3600 at a local farm auction because it is a diesel, and it was going too cheap. It is a dandy little thing that could probably do everything I need if it had dual hydraulics. Now I want a Ford 5000 because everybody brags on how good they are, and I have borrowed one in the past and liked it a lot. Growing up we used to make fun of ford tractors. Some of the Ford equipment was pretty useless, however, ie forage choppers.

I had three uncles, lifelong bachelors who farmed together, who were such John Deere fans that they wouldn't even buy any short line equipment. If John Deere didn't make it, they didn't need it.

For that reason, my father refused to own a piece of John Deere machinery.

I've been indifferent. I've never owned a JD tractor, but I have owned a couple of JD combines and a few other assorted pieces.

I got so sick of cheap socks I hate socks that won't stay up so I went and found the most expensive socks I could find a bomgarrs so far they been good

Never any big Ford tractors around here and the closest dealer was 70 miles from here the nearest town to the south I always loved going to that dealer and picking up Ford brochures and sometimes a Ford toy always liked the looks of the blue and white tractors

turned out very nice sv. are you by chance taking orders?? I need one for my mm m-5 to mount on the engine rail, it came with a factory one high up on the right fender, but not to handy when your down on the ground and need a hammer or pin or tool of some kind.

always at the bottom tangled up with at least 3 others, what would be a good size to build, sv has got me thinking about building one for my m5, I'm thinking about 10" wide, 20" long and about 6 or 8" deep, large enough to hold a hand pump grease gun, roll of rags, and some basic tools.
