I own a 1996 Belarus 572 65HP with a cab and have been having starting issues. I replaced the starter after the one smoked it self dead. It started fine after that and then the alternator went out. I replaced it and also replaced both batteries with the same size that were in it before. After that all I have had is issues starting it. I got it started three days ago and now it wont even crank over 3 or 4 times. I have had a battery charger / tender on them and still same issue. Three days ago i got it to turn over and start with a 200 amp battery charger on it. I feel that the 24v switch might not be working. I look on line and only find this one.

It doesn't look like the one in there right now. I did some testing today to see what I could find. I have 12V at my starter and its the same reading of my left battery. If there is any one out there that can help me that would be great im lost now.

the picture is sideways the top is the right battery.

Pull the batteries and take them in and have them load tested. I have picked up more then one new battery that was not worth the time or $$

I pulled them and had them both load tested. Both tested over 1000CCA. I even put the both batteries on my load tester today and both at 1000+. My big question is why do I have 12 volts to my starter with out the key on. and then why wont it turn over now.

It is 24V starting and every thing is 12v. The relay switch show brings the second battery in line to give the starter 24V. Im just wondering if the one i showed on ebay is the same switch as the one I have. Thay dont except returns so I would be out the money if I bought it and it was the wrong part. The part in the US is double the price.

I have had 2 of the 500 series and that 24 to 12 converter was bad on both, but I resold them as is and don't know about the parts.

I have an 825 with the same set up. Twice over the years I have had trouble with the switch. Last fall again it didn't work. When it is working, and activated, it makes a real loud distinctive click noise. When it isn't doing that, it isn't working. I have taken it apart and cleaned it up with a wire brush and sandpaper on the contacts, and its working once again.

It's a series parallel switch, when engaged,it sends 24 volts to starter, everything else stays 12 volts. This system makes for a lot of electrical connections, more things to corrode and cause problems. They make a 12 volt starter for 500-800 series tractors, have one on my Belarus 820 for a long time, starts fine, eliminates this switch altogether. It will eliminate your starting and electrical problems. Those tractors do not need 24 volt starting,as they start fairly easy.
