Tire failure

Looks like someone had one. I suppose it wouldn't really be classified as a tire failure because the tire looks ok. I found this wedged in some brush along my pasture. I don't think I've seen a rim this broken before.

Just talking to sister and she said she saw a guy changing a tire on a trailer there the other day. She didn't know anything else.

Just yesterday I walked by a neighbor's tractor, noticed a front wheel looking just like that. STILL on the tractor. It is a 4020 with a loader. Good thing I saw it before it fell completely off.The neighbor had no idea!

Pulling home a seed drill I got going a little too fast.
One of the caster wheels went into a speed wobble resulting in the rim tearing off the hub.
It looked very much like the one in your photo.

Picked it out of the ditch, hammered it as flat as I could, stole 4 big washers off the drill, sorta bolted the wheel back on and limped it home.

Probably off of a wagon.
A local farmer's worker had a flat on one of his wagons with a load of tobacco, not sure how far he pulled it like that.
Passerby's called the Fire Dept, by the time they got him stopped, he'd set half mile of road side and the back of the wagon on fire, the wheel was ground down to the hub.
Whoever lost that wheel probably never knew it came off till they got where they where going.
