I had about the same thing happen to me yesterday when I went thru security at the federal building to sign up for social security.

Don't get me going on the rent a cop security at SS!!!!! I just went in one day to check on something for an in law and came close to throttling that little nazi!!! 5'4" of Little Man Syndrome in full display!!!

The big arenas in the area require about the same security for sport and concert events that you go through in the airport. Empty your pockets and walk through a scanner. No bags or backpacks. Really slows down getting into the venues. But I understand they want to prevent some loon from bombing or shooting up the place, the liability payout would be in the many millions of $$.

Why didn't you sign up online? I did it all in front of my desk and my first check is in the bank on time no fuss.
