Weldable Sprocket Question

Does any company make a weldable sprocket for #50 chain, 20T, for a 2.5 inch bore? I'm needing to replace a sprocket on my Farmhand feedmill that is part of a larger hub/coupling. I can grind off the weld for the old sprocket, but the new sprocket needs to have an ID for a 2.5 inch bore.

An X-series weldable sprocket only has a bore of 2 inches, which won't fit. Thanks for any help.

This is what I would guess you need to do. Do not think you will fond that size bore in any off the shelf sprockets.

Do you need the mill this long week end? You will not find anyone to do it until Tuesday. How fast does it run? If not to fast just cut it out with the torch and weld it on. I bet you can get it pretty close. Or do you have a metal cutting hole saw that big? Chuck it in the drill press and run it real slow with plenty of coolant. Sprockets are not that hard of metal. It will not take that long to cut it out. Do you need the mill this long week end? You will not find anyone to do it until Tuesday.

You can order the sprocket with the needed bore, or buy a stock under size and have it bored.

Try a local bearing/industrial supply, or order online.

How about an industrial sprocket/hub combination? You can buy a variety of sprockets that take bushings that bolt into the sprocket and in the process tighten on the shaft, any industrial power train distributor should be able to set you up. Examples Kaman, Applied Industrial Technologies, Dixie Bearing, Brunner Bearing and Detroit Ball Bearing.

Browning will have just what you need. Google will help you get one Just need to know shaft size and also the key way type

Surplus Center has a selection of hubs and sprockets that you can mix-and-match and weld together. Haven't checked to see if they go up to 2.5"

Thanks to all for the help. Fortunately I don't need the feedmill over the weekend. The sprocket runs at 540 rpm, so I'm going to try the route of finding a sprocket and having a machine shop bore it out to 2.5 inches. Then I can weld that onto the hub.
