Cold here. Not much tractoring going on.
Wife is out for the evening.
Then I remembered I bought this step and bracket a while back. So I took it over to my friend's factory and sandblasted it tonight. It was rather pernicious looking before.
There is a dent I need to straighten before I prime it - on the left side.
Not an important post I guess.
But it's tractor step so not OT. And basting it and posting about it was something to do.

Looks like an easy fix. Needed a step for my '60. Some creative grinding and welding on some angle iron and some Teak for the step itself - et voila !

If you work on it before you prime be sure and wear rubber gloves or you will have red fingerprints on it in the am.

Yes, those steps work so nicely. The biggest thing is don't jump off the stupid tractor. The shock absorbers in you legs were shot to hek a long long time ago!!

If you really want to think pain........... I had a knee replace a while ago, and without thinking hopped out of my skidder, about halfway to the ground I realized what I'd done............

Nice job and I was thinking about a step just a few days ago. I've got a Farmall Super C, had it 28 years, had one like it home on the farm in 1953 and it's still there. Years ago soon after I started reading these forums somebody wanted to put steps on one. I couldn't figure out why anybody needed a step, I always took about a three step run left foot on draw bar right on the axle and throw left leg over seat. Now approaching 69 years old I under stand what they were talking about too well. Sucks to get old and stiff.

Go ahead UD, rub it in!
I remember when you got that step.
Ya beat me to it. :(

Just kidding

I need to put one on my 4000, the foot board seams to be
getting higher off the ground every year I get older. :?

I do have a step, but it needs a lot more body work than the
one you have, don't know if I can fix the three piece mounting bracket or not.
