To drill some grass seed got 3 more fields and I?ll be done with this project . My semi mounted drill worked flawlessly

I believe they call it dormant seeding. Too cold to germinate. The DNR does it all the time and sometimes it actually works.
 
I have frost seeded many times. It will not rot because I would bet that his ground will be frozen solid is a few weeks at the latest. It is a good way to get a good stand of grass.
 
That is the best way to seed grass.Spring rains will bring it up.It's called dormant seeding like pete 23 said.
 
I agree even the bto guys in pa don't do that. I guess when ya get a bunch of snow on top and the dirt never freezes. The seed would rot
 
Thanks I?ve got two sets of two John Deere 8 foot
unit drills one set Is an lz1010 hoe drills and then
these are ll147 disc drills
 
At this rate it?ll be froze solid buy the end of the week . I drilled 35 acres for the crp program a couple years ago and it turned out to be a beautiful stand
 
Will do and hopefully I?ll have my number 8 John Deere sickle bar mower going to cut it with if not I guess I?ll have to use my hesston hydro swing
