Totaled, bean dust started under hyd oil tank, got fire ext put this out, got down on feeder house to clean it off looked up under the cab and dash board was on fire, called 911 another county answered by the time that got figured out and got sent to my county told them how to get to me 1 1/5 miles off twp road, tanker stops at end of twp road, the chief in a suv comes on back, two of my semi's are setting there he ask me if the tanker could make it back here said bet it can, he called for it to come back they got there and saved the back tires. all of this took an hour, combine was gone in 20 mins.....see how inportion it is to carry a gun, call 911 and it taked a hour to get to you

Wow-They say there are 4 things to do if your combine catches on fire-No.1-grab your lunch, cell phone and fire extinguisher and jump from combine. No. 2-emty fire extinguisher on ground. No.3-eat your lunch. No. 4--call fire dept.---Tee

My dad always joked every old combine should have a fire extinguisher but it should be filled with gas to help it along.

Must be about average, had a tractor that the two batteries shorted out and exploded and caught the under side of the cab on fire and burn down after dark back in March this year. Closest fire truck is about seven miles away, so they sent one from about twenty five miles away, they couldn't find the address because they couldn't see the fire from the road so they sat out at the approach while they sent some other guys around the country looking for the fire. By the time the fire truck finally got here after an hour had passed, the only thing left burning was a little fire in the rear tires. They washed the whole tractor down with a little water and rolled up their hoses and started to leave. I asked them if they were going to put out the rest of the fire in the tires. They hadn't even noticed they were still burning.

Too bad about your combine. Sometimes a combine fire can spread across the field and cause much more dollar damage to the crop than the combine is worth. And insurance might not cover the crop.
