Had to rebuild the widespread on my old IHC 300 spreader. Got a hunk of 4" heavy wall tubing and welded the paddles on. Cut inserts to fit inside the tube and onto the stub axles out of 3/8" flat stock with a hole saw. Welded the axles to the inserts, tacked the inserts into the tube to make sure I had the length right. Got called away when another crisis reared it's head and promptly forget I'd only tacked the inserts. It all came back to me right after I tried spreading a load of heavy, wet bedding.....

forgetting: where things are, what I've done, how did I fix this last time it broke, what did I come over here for, I just saw it yesterday, where is it. Has become the norm for me. It has produced some good results though, I try harder to put thing where they belong so I don't have to remember. lol gobble

If you get some 6011 you could reach right in there and reweld it! We always joked about it being a farmer rod, you can weld right through cow $hit and it will hold!
