CaseIH parts site question

I was looking at the official parts site to see if there were any David Brown 850 parts still available for my Oliver 500 right through CaseIH. There were some that said unavailable, but most everything else I clicked on,supposedly was subbed to a new number. The second number I wrote down,I noticed that every part that subbed, subbed to the same number:84535312. Anybody know what the deal is with that?

I've not really paid attention to the superseded part number. I've just gotten the first number and used that when talking to the parts guy at the "local" (~40 miles away) CaseIH dealer. He figures out the sub part number and gets the parts.

So far, I've not had anything turn up as not available (knocks on wood). I've not really needed to order much though. Water pump, gaskets, seals, draft control cable, etc.

Amazingly, my local NAPA always has oil and fuel filters on the shelf. They only cross reference to a couple other DB tractors, but they must move enough to keep them on the shelf.

Fuel pump, bolt for banjo fitting, clip for the hood latch, they all sub to the same number.

Just because CaseIH shows a part number doesn't mean it is still available. I tried to order a fuel pump for a Case 310D Dozer this past week. Dealer showed it to be a good part number. 136.00 and change. I ordered it, next day got an E-mail saying NO Longer Available, obsolete part. Tried to order some AC hoses a while back, same deal. This stuff isn't updated as often as you may think

Well dealing with Case IH for my 830 I have found out there are two systems that they use online one and dealer one. The dealer one may show if the part is still good and they may have or not by the time they order it then they can check dealers old stock, but if a dealer hasn't updated their inventory on the computer oh well. Call John Saeli he seems to be able to find the stuff no problem

Fuel pump subs to 47672994, and requires slight modification of the line to work. Around $80 I think. The hood latch clip is # K88680 I think, and I don't think it's available through CNH, but there are 3 at dealers in the US. I can let you know where if you're interested.

I'll let you know. I can get everything I need for it from David Brown Parts Ltd in England, but if I could save all that shipping and have the few sheet metal parts I need fabricated like I did for the last one I restored, I'd go that route. Oliver Jim in Canada has a thing or two that I can't get anywhere else and if he can get everything I need,I might just do that.

I should call Rick Stair when I figure out everything I need. The parts I got from DBParts Ltd were all Sparex, and the pump I got from Rick this past summer for my Fiat Oliver was too,so apparently he sells Sparex parts also.

Yeah, lots of non AGCO dealers and shops carry Sparex parts. I said try your AGCO dealer 'cause I figured you dealt with them for you Oliver parts. Good luck! I'm sure that thing will be a real looker when you get through with it!
