Steering problem with pictures

52 8N my steering gave up as a roller came out and bound the steering up. Everything had lube,tower had a stack of shims 3/4 as high as a deck of cards. Is this a mutt steering setup and thats why they took a grinder to the shaft housing. Both sides had had a grinder taken to it but one side was ground much thinner then the other. Ball block and shaft are in good working order and tractor had a full range of steering up to this point.

If its been butchered up, I would just get a good used one to put on it.

This came off a loader tractor. The box and sectors seem fine, the ball block and shaft are ok. I think I will just rebuild this one as a used one is about half of an aft mkt one. If ya put the loader on and steering fails its another take loader off. I was posting mainly to see why somebody did all the butchery. Thanks for the post <'((((()<
