I bought tierod assemblies for my Moline tractor, the style I ordered is like a 4020 jd or 1370 Case that has bolts and clamp/wedge blocks to put on the 3/8 bolts to hold the tubes to the right length. Problem is that when tightening the bolts up the wedges snap in two. broke 5 out of the 8 that came with the assemblies then received a new set and broke the first one I tightened and quit. Representative I talked to last week, never heard of any problems, but also never knew such a part existed. Can't wait to see what he says tomorrow. A&I clamps are $2, deere and caseih are $4+. Just using a wrench and 3/8 ratchet, kind of defeating the purpose of these if not tightened up. These aren't a smooth cut on the inside, sides are angled and center is flat. JD #R28024, ebay has both listed for comparison.

Are the JD clamps machined better??? The reason I am asking is that many of JDs older parts now are A&I made. You may need to find old used OEM ones that are made better.

Yes the originals are machined better, also just a hardened steel instead of this cast material.

JD Seller, checked with CaseIH on theirs and they are $17 a piece. And people say JD is high, they never priced Case parts then! chris
