Just got home about 20 minutes ago from Norfolk from the concert and it was a blast! Didn't stay the whole time as my daughter and I get up early (5:00-5:25) to go to work. My hearing ain't the best, but no problem hearing the music even up in the nosebleed section we were in. G'night, folks!!

Momma and I go to an occasional retro concert and enjoy them, not necessarily the original groups but a lot of the knock-offs are pretty good and close to the original sound. My hearing isn't the best either but I always take earplugs because the sound is turned up so $%#@&^% high. Almost unbearable, I know that's the way kids like it but these audiences have an average age of probably around 50-60.

Years back I saw Willie Nelson who was being interviewed on TV and a question about that was asked of him to which he responded something like ...... "If you can't hear the words then the band's too loud" ..... makes sense to me.

Poor Ringo never got any respect. The story (probably not true) is someone asked John Lennon if Ringo was the "best drummer in the world". John says, "he's not even the best drummer in the Beatles".

Decades back when I was stationed at Ft. Hood, TX. my buddies and I used to go down to the Gulf every weekend and party with the gals from the University of Texas at Houston because we are and were guys that liked gals and not guys. We are and were old school if you know what I mean. So it's cold, winter, maybe New Years weekend or something and its too cold to go to Galveston, so we get a room at some downtown Houston hotel and go out partying downtown until the wee hours of the morning. The following morning we get up, look out the window and there across the street is the Houston Summit where the Mavericks played. On the marquee was "HEART TONIGHT", Ann and Nancy Wilson, my favorites at the time. We bought tickets and went to Heart that night...first balcony off to the side of them and RIGHT DEAD CENTER A WALL OF AMPLIFIERS AND SPEAKERS ON THE STAGE. Great concert. We couldn't hear for a month afterwards I figure. It was so loud that it radiated the hair off of our heads. We went back to base the following day deaf, bald, and hungover.
