Too soon. Don't wish your life away.

Now wishing it was Sunday already,ya,I could take another day of doing nothing.

Had an older lady tell me one time "Don't wish 5 days of your life away for 2", meaning the weekend. But I am looking forward to this Friday as it will be my last day of work, retiring. Then the work begins, only on my terms.

Ah, ya beat me to it! Except that instead of 1970, I was thinking about Monday November 13th, 1995; exactly 22 years ago. ....But 1970 works for me, also!

People always say, "Retire so you can do what you enjoy".

I already enjoy what I'm doing, so why should I retire?

Remember that when you retire you won't get any days off anymore. Oh wait... farmers don't get days off ... so they all must be retired!!!

Tighten up your chinstrap Turbo. This is gonna get rough.

Gee, why would I wish for Friday? I hate Fridays! I love Mondays! Friday everyone is happy looking forward to the weekend. Monday everyone is mad about having to go back to work. I'm retired, every day is Saturday! All you guys off on the weekend get in the way of my retirement, out on the road running here and there, plugging up the boat ramps.......lets hear it for a 7 day work week!!!!

In The UK we say that Friday is "Poets day" i.e. P.O.E.T.S. = "Push Off Early, Tomorrow's Saturday" although the first word is often changed from 'Push' to another four letter word beginning with the letter P which is far more vulgar and would probably get me thrown off the forum if I typed it!

I'm just wondering...

Is it to early to be looking forward to SPRING??? LOL

I know, I know... rrlund AND mama always said,
"Don't wish your life away."
It's just that I really, really hate winter. :)

Congrats Bmack. Soon you're going to wonder how you ever got anything done around your place the entire time you worked! You now have the wealth of time.

I worked till I was 75, now almost 80 and every year has been one big health issue. Heart attack, kidney stone surgery, prostate surgery and now undergoing chemo due to leukemia. Best advice I suppose is to enjoy every day you possibly can regardless of the day of the week. You don't get any do-overs.
