Bear killed by a combine

It seems from reading the story and comments below it the guy that shot it illegally, had a lot more to do with the bears death the day before the combine hit it. The original story is 2013 and comments updated since then if a guy scrolls down the page. It seems the paper ended up with a whole story that was half true from what I read.

Read some more, think the combine killed an already dead bear shot a day or two earlier in Wisconsin.

It's a sad day when the value of life between man and animal becomes so tilted. Remember reading the other thread? About the man who died, trapped in his combine when it caught fire? How many lines of text did each story have?!?!? That thread is here for your convenience:

I suppose there have been other people who have died while inside their combine, but I wonder if any other bears have been shish-kabobbed by a snout. ...At least the combine wasn't damaged! Still, it's a bit depressing. Can't even begin to imagine how that footnote-of-an-article made the rest of the man's family feel.

....Sorry, don't mind me. Just sittin' here trying to figure out which way is up in this crazy, mixed-up world.

By the way, this reply has NOTHING to do with the people who posted these stories here, and EVERYTHING to do with the value that our illustrious media placed on each story. The WBKO author didn't even have the desire to sign their name to that joke of an article: "[i:31b862bc8f]By WBKO News Staff | Posted: Mon 11:02 PM, Oct 30, 2017[/i:31b862bc8f]"

So a shot bear traveled over 200 miles to hibernate in a corn field after being shot in WI Somehow I don't buy that part of this story. Kinross MI is just off I-75 between Rudyard and Sault Saint Marie MI the east end of the UP.
I did read a story a couple of years ago about a guy in WI that found a bear under the wheel of his combine. That was in WI I think. Combine got stuck in the hole dug by the bear or some such deal.

Fleshing out gruesome bits is morbid, but on occasions a general overview of what happened leads to others being more cautious and knowing
a certain risk to avoid. Knowledge saves lives, simple fact of life.

Guy's read the story. It happened in Wisconsin and the bear was hit by the combine .It was not shot. Please read and understand what you just have read.

===============

No Mackinac County. in WI.
I can't find a Kinross nor Brimley listed in the State DOT map of WI.

Maybe combine driver thought he was in WI, or maybe he wished he was here; maybe late at night and tired and maybe sampling some of Wisconsin's best he even thought he saw a bear.

Things happen in WI when it turns chilly....a friend of mine took a load of corn to the co-op at 10pm (rush season), employees let him sample some refreshments. Later he started combine auger to unload, laid his head on the steering wheel "for just a minute" and woke up with sun shining, auger still running. He said he got 8 hours of restful sleep!

And that did not happen near Kinross or Brimley, but in Juneau Co. WI.
LA in WI

PS Don't get worked up about employees and refreshments late at night in WI, or I will have to tell you things that will really twist your undies.

if you do a little research the bear was shot the day before the combine hit it. It was shot in Dunn county. It was run over by a Boyceville farmer. I beleive this happened in the fall of 2008. If I could post a link I would.
