Need help on 7810

Changed fuel filters today for the second time since I owned this JD 7810. Have not been able to get the air out by following instructions in the owners manual. I pump the primer for probably 20 minutes but can only get foamy bubbles. Anyone have an Idea how to get it running again?

You more than likely have a bad primer pump. Your pumping air in with the fuel.

What I have done is lightly and I do mean lightly pressurize the fuel tank to push fuel through the filters. I usually use an air gun with a rag to block the fuel tank opening. I hold the rag with my hand so to not blow the tank out.

Open the bleeders. Then use the air to push fuel to the bleeder. Have some one close it while you keep pressure pushing the fuel.

P.S. it helps to have the fuel tank full when changing the filters. Also parking with the front end down hill helps too. This is just when the primer pump is not working correctly.

I have a late model 7810 and they are hard to bleed the filters if you run it out of fuel. If you changed filters I hope you filled them before you installed them. The book says that it could take up to 1300 strokes on the primer pump to get it bleed. I have put a electric pump inline to pump fuel and that worked well. Hope you get it running.

Make sure you screw the primer plunger tight after priming or it won't start. Took me a while to figure that out when I ran mine out of fuel one time.
