Found A Blade!

Check this beast out! 8 foot, angles for ditching, swings out to the side of a tractor for cutting banks, built like a tank! Going to pick it up Saturday.

Ought to work well, just use care as the blade will take more than the tractor will on the 3 pt hitch.

Yes! I would really like to do that, but I need to figure out how to add a 2nd set of remotes on the SuperM. I one have one set, but I plumed them with quick couplers to the 3 point hitch, so when I am using drawbar stuff, I can just un clip the cylinder on the 3 point, and have my remotes again! ;)

Ya I know it... The 3 point is going to be the weak link at this point. Tractor has a LOT of snort and traction, and one heavy blade to push. Only going to clear roads with it though, shouldn't stress anything too bad.

hey Bryce,,what did you ever do with that sweeper truck you bought at the auction a while ago? Just curious how you made out with it.I got a kick out of you buying it,,then explaining it to your mom...keep on keepin on,,and post more,,us old geesers miss your posts and pictures!

Exactly! First rear blade I owned is the one I mentioned in the previous post. I had to remind myself to not get carried away with it, thinking that it's still on a 3 pt hitch, a real stout one, but still, top link and draft sensing, or just plain ole parts/hdwe that may not hold up under abuse + shock loads which are really abusive.

I like this one you acquired, it has about the same geometry as mine. For what a good heavily built one costs used, you can get a lot of use out of them for a variety of tasks.

You did well on the purchase, and 8' is great when making just a single pass, you can clean up or bank up the sides after you have a path opened up.

I have one that looks just like it except yellow, built by ARPS.

Check the four bolts on the rear circular plate. They like to break or pull out.

Also the flanges on the bottom. If pulled hard the "flange" will pull away from the weld or bend. The blade pivots on the bolt but the "flanges" do the work.

I actually sold it to a business owner in Florida, and have since bought / sold two more of them! Mom pretty well just keeps quiet over what I bring home. She says as long as I can make a living off of it, she is okay with it. ;)

I took a pic of dads model 40 IH blade. He bought it new with a 986. It's on his d-17 now but I have had it on the 4020 alot and it would work it.
