Harvesting some timber for use in the old barn rebuild

It was a busy weekend for my son and I. I did have the nephew come Saturday morning and cut the 4 big red oak trees, I woke up early and decided, better safe than sorry, those trees were huge. Over 36" on the butt and still 26" after 10'. Dang near 1000' in the one tree.
We will have a custom saw mill move in and get these sawed within the next month or so. Just glad to have them high and dry before the rain came in today.

We loaded them on my gooseneck trailer and hay wagons. Had 5 wagon loads and 2 trailer loads.

Nice looking logs. Looks like a load on those wagons. Are you going to make beams? Don't see much building with oak out here.

You might be money ahead to send them off
to the veneer factory and use some of the
money to buy what the barn needs and pocket
the rest.

Where are you located JD? I'm familiar with a large veneer shop in Mercer County, Penna.
They are always looking for quality logs.

+1 If I had oak like that it would be on it's way to a veneer mill in Canada. Use the money for rough cut pine & hemlock dimension lumber
