new old tractor suggestions

I'm considering a new tractor purchase before next spring. Mom and I have a beef cattle farm in Kentucky and were looking for a bigger tractor to run a 7720 new Holland disc mower and a 7060 round baler. We run them now with a 5610 ford and it does OK. I'd prefer something with a cab, especially for her to run (she's 66 yrs old and does most of the cutting). She's not concerned about a cab. Were looking to spend in the $10,000 range. I'd like something around 80-100 Hp, that has a shift on the move option. Open to any brand except international, but thinking along the lines of an Allis or white, or ford. I'm a MM fan, have 2 we use a lot, just looking for something newer. Suggestions please

Pretty hard to beat a White 2-105 for a haying tractor that size. I've got a 2-135 too,but it's a lot of iron to be moving around on those jobs. Drinks a lot more fuel than the 105 does too. That 3 speed Over/Under is great on the discbine and round baler both.
Trouble is,it's getting hard to find a nice 2-105 with low hours and working air. I found one with 4500 hours or so for $9000. Counted myself lucky to find it.

Yes, I like a 2-105, never ran one, but have seen a few. Liked a 2-85, but heard its the same tractor with less horsepower. Is that true? Whites seem to be very heavy duty, which would be great for a tillage tractor, but this one will mostly be for hay, with other odd jobs included. A tractor with a better hp-weight ratio might be better? Shorter turning radius, less compaction?

They're the same tractor yes. The 105 has a turbo and the 85 doesn't. They're just a nice, nimble, handy tractor for haying, planting, manure hauling, you name it. I've got an 1850 Oliver too. I always used the heck out of that thing, but the 105 with the air conditioned cab and three speed O/U has relegated the 1850 to the sprayer, corn picker and grinder mixer.

I'd second that too. We don't have any Whites here but people that do/did love them. If you can find one with a Cummings even better.

A Ford 7710 would fit your needs pretty well. They are a pretty highly thought of tractor. There are a few to look at on Tractor House. Nearly all of them were built with cabs and dual power, and they were built prior to electronics. You would probably have to pay a little more than $10,000 to get a nice one. The 6710 is the same tractor in the utility format.

I have 3 of the suggested tractors. a white 2-85, 105 and ford 7710. I bale with the 105 with a Vermeer 6640 baler .48 x 66" bale. never lack for power. Average about 20 gals fuel per 100 bales. Don't currently cut with any of these but have had the 7710 on a 9' gehl discbine. Worked fine. Between these 2 brands, I would recommend the white over the ford for your purposes. I like the
3 speed over/under shift better then the ford dual power. Seems like it shifts smoother plus you have 3 speeds on the go shift vs 2 with the ford. A good white will fit your budget while a ford 7710 will be above it.

You can add my vote for a 2-105 - I love mine. Very handy and good on fuel. I've used my buddies 7700, and it's a nice tractor as well, but as the others said, the over under on the White makes it easier to find the right speed. That, and in these parts the Ford would be more expensive
