What is BP? British Petroleum ? I am so tired of guessing what ATND means ,or KUEBT means, or KROSNIC? Just type it out! Every newspaper or news show uses some series of letters that. by the time I decide what the HECK they mean the story is over. In a newspaper always "NYEC" did whatever? Most of the time have to read half on the article to find out what NYETCEFCK means. Rant over,, joe

I'm with ya ..... BP to me means Building Products who make house shingles up in this area. Anyways, LOL and HAGD !!!!

BP or British Petrolium has left the area, None in Ohio or Indiana that I know of. Sold the refinery after having started to shut it down. Did not think they were in the states anymore.

Just take a WAG at it. Or if that fails, SWAG. Ya, I hate all these abbreviations and then when one looks like an abbreviation, it is for real.

Don't know tote a AAA platinum card and hope I never need it...

I have BP linked to a card I use to buy gas it has got me up to 25 cents off a gal of gas :)

Don't feel bad I don't get the abbreviations either. I understood none of the ones you used. I am only 42 will h a 14 year old daughter and always have to ask what they mean ! Stinks ! Used to be we wrote letters or called. Then social media and texts. Guess that wasn't good enough either. Now we just abbreviate everything. I could just make my own I guess and then I would be the only one who one what they stood for ! I did get bp though. It is on their gas station signs. The art of communicating has gone downhill I think.

To get you to think they were not a foreign owned company they dropped British Petroleum and went with BP. They bought up a lot of smaller oil companies in the 80's

Around here, BP bought out all the existing Amoco stations. If I'm not mistaken, Amoco was a survivor of Standard Oil.

300jk, The reason you did not understand "my" abbreviations is because I just hit keys at random except for Krosnic. That was whatever we didn't know the name for or something that never was, as in sending the new guy to tool trailer for a non-existant tool.
yes fun at work joe

Yes, AMOCO was the acronym for American Oil Company which was a survivor of one of the various flavors of Standard. Just recalling the stencils on the various barrels of oil that Dad bought I remember Standard Oil of Indiana, SOCONY (Standard Oil Company of New York) then after a merger it was SOCONY Mobil. Then the US government got even more hostile to American business and BP bought that whole AMOCO shootin match, IIRC.

(quoted from post at 19:13:34 09/26/17) BP gas stations all over the place,BP is their name.I have a BP Credit card.Ever heard of the CIA,IRS,FBI or DOT?

No, are they gas stations also?

Why are you turning a simple question into a political discussion, to further your obvious anti-government
beliefs.????

See, the knife cuts 2 ways.....
