Just reeling them in

The Jib pole on my 3pt. splitter has more tasks than just lifting the heavy blocks.
When I cut firewood logs, I skid them to landings and buck them up into piles with the loader on my Kubota. When it comes time to saw the logs into blocks, I pull the cable out and hook it to the logs and pull them to where the splitter and elevator are set up. It also raises up the logs so they are off the ground and I can lay smaller blocks crossways under them for easier sawing.

You are the firewood king. I am not. Wanna come help? It's only 900 miles! Ended the day with a busted tube. Fence customer of ours hired a guy with a track hoe to clean up an area , supposed to haul off trees and bury stumps. Then burn limbs. He did not ,so they paid us to deal with the mess. Pile was in new fence line. Lots of good fire wood. Oak, maple, poplar and some sweet gum. Crappy part is it's 70 miles from home. Oh well it's a paying job.

Grandpa, just load the logs on your trailer and cut a load for your truck. More bang for your buck. Done it many times.

The thought occurred, you like to pile your trailers high for maximum amount per trip. Why not hook your smaller trailer behind the bigger one and haul two loads at a time (not piled quite so high)?

oh you have one of those jobs too...my oldest brother, that lives about 60 miles out, called us up if we wanted some firewood. Had some storm damage and lots of EAB dead/dying ash...anyway now we have a job to clean it all up. We have an advantage though, he gets along with a big farm in his area, and they are letting him bum one of their semi dump trailers to haul the stuff in.

Did not notice you had a gooseneck. Had a job like that once. 5acres had been logged and the owner wanted it destumped, cleaned and burned. Logger left a lot of logs that should have been sold but weren't. I would work all day piling logs and pulling stumps and then haul a load of logs home on my gooseneck. Probably 30 plus cords. Sold that many as u-cut. Worked it all up and he planted Christmas trees in it.
