GMC with Jasper engine question

I picked up a GMC pickup for my son that has a 4.3 V6 Jasper engine in it (according to the stickers). Anyone know if they use the "good" Felpro gaskets when they assemble their engines? We've has several Chevy Work Trucks with the 4.3 and there were two kinds - those that had blown their intake manifold gasket and those that were going to blow their intake manifold gasket.

Jasper 4.3 does not come with the intake on it, but they send the gaskets. Have not installed a Jasper 4.3, but they are good about using the most up dated parts. The premium Felpro gaskets will not fail again. If it has those, there should be some steel visible at the part line under the valve cover. They will also be rubber feeling at the ends instead of hard plastic.

Got 2 pickups with that motor, one has 260000+ miles on it and 05 has 200000+ miles on it. Wonder when that gasket is going to go out on them?

We had about 35 of them from 1998 to 2008 - all "Victory Red" regular cab work trucks with the 4.3 and tow package. Most of them had the intake manifold gasket blow at the 70K to 90K mark. I don't think we ever had one make it to 200K. Worst thing is if the drive was careless (not watching his gauges) after the water leaks out the engine overheats and warps the heads too. The repair goes from $400 or so for the intake manifold to well over $1100 to remove and plane the heads.
