I have a 1965 John Deere 4020 that is all stock but it does have a loader. the loader controls are a Cross two spool system that is worn out and I'd like to replace it. Just wondering what products are out there and ill consider any recommendations you guys may have. I'd like my new system to handle the closed center system easily and not heat up my control as thats what my current one does from time to time. I have turned up the pressure screw on mine but over time it starts to hiss again and slowly heat up. Any suggestions please? I am all ears! thank you!

You can easily find closed center valves that will work on your tractor. The pressure setting should be around 2200 PSI and the flow the valve would need to handle should be around 15 Gallons per minute. A valve that will do those two things will easily handle anything your tractor hydraulics can generate.

I personally would look for a valve with the joystick handle. I have become spoiled by them. A two lever valve just seems unhandy now.

Thank you everyone for your help! I'll do some searching now and see what I can find for a control valve that can handle those pressure and flow rates. I have seen a few pictures now of people who have added joysticks along side the fender and to be honest I like that idea too.

I did the tee off the top of the SCV control valves to go to control then it returns back near the hydraulic filter
