That's a 51, my first car was a 50 bought for $25.00 with a blown engine. Bought a wrecked 51 and put the engine in my 50 in the back yard of a friends house. 6 of us pulled the engine out and wrestled it over to my Ford using a 4x4 and chain.

Don't recognize that side trim from Canadian models .... mind you, I was only 5 at the time but I did follow a lot of 50's cars through that decade.

That's a 51 ford Crestliner. They made the Crestliner in 50 and 51 only as a trim package. I have a friend that's restoring one right now. They are pretty rare.

My first was a 51 Ford coupe, sure wish I had it back, next, 59 Chevy 348 stick convertible. Got rid of it because I got married, should have kept the 348.

Very nice 51. Also known as "shoebox Fords" as the 49 to 51 models were sometimes referred to. That fancy side trim is pretty rare although I have seen restored versions. Back when they were new I guess most customers didn't want to pay any extra for that fancy stuff.
