Cab interior

Working on replacing the cab interior and it is taking along time to scrape off the old glue etc. Is there a solvent that will work to remove the glue? Tried mineral spirits and brake cleaner with not much luck. Do you need to wire brush it off? Thanks for any suggestions.

I"ve done a couple of them...from Fehr Cab- very good fitting product...take the seat out for more room, and ability to get in every area. I use a 4 inch grinder with wire brush- takes off the old adhesive very well. I don"t use solvent- it just gets smeary and is harder to remove. Fit each piece in place before gluing anything! Once glue is applied, there is no sliding around!

try 3m 38983 general purpose adhesive remover. we use it at the shop for weatherstrip adhesive and interior adhesive removal. napa has it .

I have been working on a JD 4055:

1. On the corner posts I used a propane torch and then a gasket scraper. But if you use the snap on corner posts from Fehr you only need to get down to the metal where the Velcro adhesives go on the two front post.

2. On the lower part of the cab I used gasket scrapers and Goo Gone or similar products. The wire brush only smeared the glue around and then started heating it.

So, depending on the glues used you might trying multiple things. But the real time saver is to use the Fehr Snap One corner posts and leave the old glue on except where the Velcro's go.

Good Luck.

Take the seat out and windpws and floor mat ..and power wash it with a hot power washer. Take you an hour this way. Half a say or more the other way
