A few months back I saw an ad in
the local paper, someone looking
for a farmall super c carb. Well I
called the guy and gave him a few
numbers of folks I know that may
be able to help him. He told me
the story of the tractor. it was
his father- in -laws ,who about 30
years ago was bush hogging and
flipped the tractor . pinned him
under it and he got burnt badly.
After he got out of hospital he
said that tractor could just stay
where it was. He passed away 15
years later and this fellow went
and got the tractor and fixed it.
This spring the fuel line was
leaking and somehow he broke the
carb. Well I enjoyed talking to
him and wished him luck in getting
it fixed. Well 3-4 months later
the ad was back in the paper so I
called him and he was real happy
to hear from me. Said he lost the
numbers I gave him. His wife got
sick and he has been busy running
her to Dr appointments and chemo.
( She is doing real good) well I
told him we were going to
Lawrenceburg TN the next week for
a tractor show and I would look
for a carb there. Tracy Brown (
YTer) was bringing me some Ford
parts so I emailed him and he said
he had an old carb he would bring.
Well it wasn't pretty ,but for the
price I bought it. Had it cleaned
and rebuilt. Yesterday we finally
got to meet the gentleman with the
tractor. We ( my wife) got the
carb put on , tractor fired right
up and off he went! Smile from ear
to ear. Happy to see an old
tractor back going. Made new
friends too
