Replacement for Continental Z129 engines?

Does anyone make a engine that would bolt right up for a Ferguson with a continental Z129?

I see rebuilt kits but what if the block is bad?

Thanks

No, not any aftermarket sources available.

Bad news, they are prone to crack.

Good news, there are a lot of rebuildable blocks out there, and the cracks can sometimes be repaired.

Continental made a lot of engines for many different applications. If you go looking for a block, make sure it is specifically for that tractor.

Wouldnt it make sense for someone to start making a bolt in engine?

An adapter plate and components might be feasible, but to make an engine is dramatic. and for replacement in used tractors Nope.

Vapormatic makes a brand new Ford BSD444 and BSD333, new everything, not a Massey but aftermarket is making some engines new.

There should be a bunch on engines that will fit in a TO30. Massey 35's might fit as well, I'm certainly not an expert on Massey's.

Are you serious? Tool up to cast and machine an engine that they might sell 10 a year of over 20 years? Would you pay $5K for the engine, or more likely $20K? Because that's probably what you'd have to charge to break even.
