Anyone recognize this thing?

This came with a bunch of Oliver parts I had to take in order to buy a tractor I wanted. Didn't want the stuff, but have it now. It looks like an AC or 110 generator of some sort, but looks JD green to me. I didn't see any sort of tag or stampings in it, but I also didn't look very close. Anyone know if this fits a tractor, or what it works On? Or should I toss it in the electric motor pile for the scrapyard?

Reminds me of a unit I saw many years ago for mounting on a tractor or truck to provide 110 ac. Originally had an out let nad fuse box with it, some even had a voltmeter and voltage control on the box. Not very useful on anything except very basic tools that were not real critical on voltage or cycles. Long before the development of the higher powered AC inverters. Plus mostly before 12 volts.

They used to make a unit you could install and charge your electric system with and then use it as welder/ AC generator, I never seen one was just told about them, might be one of them

To add to Johns comment below the one I was told about was in 1968, I thought they said weld with it but maybe like he said it was just for a drill or something, they said they used it to power a window ac unit on a combine they were testing

I recall, back probably when this item was available, AC/Simplicity offered a 110V generator as an attachment to their garden tractor. It looked very similar to your unit. It could run a hedge trimmer, etc.

Thanks guys. Sounds like something I'll never use. Trying to clean up some stuff, I guess I'll toss it in the pile for the scrapyard.
