Ford Escape Theft Alarm

Yesterday SWMBO had my 2007 Escape, and the entry alarm went off after being parked for a few hours where she works. She went out and reset it and it went off again a half hour later. That evening it went off again after being locked for an hour. I don't lock it most of the Tim myself, but there are usually a few times very week when it is prudent to lock it. Anyone ever have this happen? Maybe a sensor that needs replaced?

Can't that be locked without setting the alarm? Our 09 can, there are two separate buttons on the key.

Each latch & tail gate have a switch in them it's possible ( Tail gate ) can loose connection due to water?
Has it been Wet where you are? Dorr adjar switch, can be checked with the black box at a ford store.
( Just a guess )

the module stores the last 8 alarm events, so with a proper scan tool you can access that info and see if it is a door switch or hood switch etc....

I have 04, 07 and 08 Fords and the alarms always set when locked on all of them.

Are you sure that the alarms aren't legitimate? Someone messing with the truck?

By your wording I take it she doesn't often drive yours, so I would imagine the delinquents that normally hang around the area would see it as "fresh meat."

Try pulling on each door.

Possibly there is a switch out of adjustment, making intermittent contact. Wind and vibration could cause the switch to open, setting off the alarm.

98.6 percent sure it is a door lock switch. Had the same problem on our 07 Escape. Put up with it for awhile, then traded it in because it had 170,000 miles. It is a problem with older Escapes.
