I'm looking to buy a westendorf wl 40 loader for a 1490 case tractor listed as 83hp. will the loader bolt up straight across or will it need modifications? Do you think its a good match or will it be too cumbersome for the 1490's dimensions?

Thank you in advance

What did the loader come off of? If it came off of a 1490 or another tractor of the same design, it will bolt on. Otherwise you will need to modify the brackets, probably heavily.

If it came off an IH you might get by with just drilling a few holes in the side brackets. The front bracket might be a different story. A tape measure is your friend.

If it came off an IH tractor, it will NOT bolt on without modification. All after market loaders had brand specific mounting kits to fit their basic loader frames. I hope you have welding skills and the knowledge to fabricate mountings to adapt it to your tractor. Other wise you are screwed.
