Spray Roundup on cloudy day

I need to spray some weeds in the drive today but wondering if it's a good idea. It's really cloudy and 60 but no rain forecasted. Suppose to get into the 80's this afternoon but really would like to getter done this morning.

What say the gang, would it be a waste if I went ahead and sprayed.

Regular formula Roundup will be fine with no rain for 4 hours after application regardless if it is sunny or not. The targeted weeds need to have dry foliage before applying. Keep people away from the treated area along with pets. Now I am seeing some plants starting to shut down hence browning leaves. Herbicide is best when applied to active plants.

I was always led to believe that hot and sunny was the best for the spray to be absorbed into the leaf. I always use a surfactant to make the
spray stick better to waxy leaf plants, dish soap will act as a surfactant and it dries with a film that keeps the weed spray or roundup on
the leaf. That said my farm neighbour always used to say that as long as the spray had a chance to dry onto the plant , it didn't matter if
it got rained on. There will be lots of ideas on this, but for me I like to spray when it is hot and sunny.

I see no issue with it, 24D should be sprayed during cool weather because it vaporizes and drifts after application when hot.

I was told Roundup is good down to the mid-50's degree range. If the temp is in the mid-90's the plants shut down and don't take it in as well.

Here in the great white North, we have sprayed Roundup in just above freezing Temps.
As long as the product stays on the plant, it will get absorbed. Just takes longer to
see results. Check your product handbook for specifics. Ben

Thanks gang, will go for it and see what happens. I do have a weed in the ditch out front that seems immune to roundup. Going to mix in a little MSMA to see if it helps. The MSMA is all I have on hand and thought I would give it a try. If it doesn't work I'll go buy something that will.

I have had grass I sprayed covered with snow in the spring and when the snow melted a couple of weeks later the grass was brown. I'd put on regardless of clouds.

For driveway use diesel instead of water for mixing roundup. But then again if you are using diesel, no need for the roundup.
