Friend just called, newly purchaced 1800 gas is low on trans dipstick. The stick says "Use type F" fluid. Is that ATF? Hydral shift?Does it use different oil in thans;rear end'hydralics;powersteering?? So,what oil goes where? I haven't seen the tractor,so I have no idea........ Thanks,Steve

Have a 1650 and 1750 with hydra power. Use trans oil in both tractors as what it calls for. Yes it is different from the rear end and transmission.

Forgot to mention the transmission and hydra power are two different units. Hydra power has its own dip stick. Trans. is separate. Hyd. on 50 series tractors is a dipstick on the housing between your feet when sitting in the seat, no sure on the 00 series.

The transmission and final drive take 80-90 gear oil. NOW find out if it is a series A B or C. The A & B Series have 2 compartments and 2 fill plugs for the transmission & final drive. The series C has one fill plug. In this day and age the hydraulic unit takes a good hydraulic oil. The dipstick is by the seat. Hydra power drives used type A transmission fluid not 80-90 transmission fluid. I worked for a dealer for 16 years and I recall no publication saying to use the 80-90 oil in those 2 speed units. My e-mail should be open.

Type F for Automotive use, designed for a high-friction fluid that allowed the shifting clutches to lock up or engage quickly.
