Does anyone have an International 2400 round baler? Was wondering how decent they are for just a couple of waterways to bale. What size bale do they make?

I had one for a year biggest mistake I've ever made. Mine would roll hay great but if you put twine on the bale it wouldn't eject unless you either used a prybar or let it spin the bale until it had run all the twine back off. Suggest you keep looking for a better machine , preferably one that does not use a floor belt.

Thats what I wanted to hear lol. I wondered about the bottom belt. The guy was asking $1000 or make offer. Doesnt look bad but looks dont make a bale lol.

I've not run a 2400, But I do have a fair amount of experience with its predecessor, the 241. Those two models share an IH parts manual and a lot of common parts. The biggest problems I've had are that starting a bale can be a pain being a closed throat baler. Manual tie. As far as size, I've made bales from 3'-6" over 6'-0" in diameter. Just depends on when you want to stop filling. We ran ours behind a 656 gas and it was all that tractor wanted. Bought an 806 D to run it. Well, that was the excuse I used to buy the 806...

Way too much. $400 tops. Yes they make bales. Have been using one for 25 yrs.

But there is a reason that new balers don't look like a 2400. The newer ones work better.

There are a lot of better balers for $1000. I sold my Vermeer Super F in good working condition for $500 a few years ago. Before that we baled for years with a 560 MF (605C Vermeer). Case 3650/8480 soft center balers don't bring a lot and make a pretty good bale if you pack the hay in to make a firm outer shell. I would avoid a jd 500 or 510.
