Height of a 53' end dump trailer?

I'm looking to have some material hauled in a 53' end dump trailer and I'm wondering how tall the sides are for loading purposes. Anyone have one or know how tall they typically are? Thanks, Sam

Depends on how high the sides are, but the bottom of most semi trailers is at about 4' plus 4' sides would put it at 8' +/-.

Hopefully you have a relatively straight, wide, with no hills to get high centered on, along with no low hanging branches, or other objects. From someone who used to drive tractor/trailers having someone say they had 53' trailers that are 13' 6" tall in their place, and when you get there the road actually is narrow, winding with low hanging branches you will have a very mad truck driver on your hands. A dump trailer can be up to 100" tall, I'd call whoever is doing the hauling for you to find out how tall their trailers are.

We have two sitting out here that we use to haul corn and some stone. Each one has a 8 inch board added to the side and just measured them to be 78 inches from the ground to top of board.

There are a lot of different designs on end dumps, but with a 53' 5' sides would put it in the specialty category.

Most trucks have a floor at around four feet. Many dump trucks have a floor at more like 4'9'. If you are inside the box of one of these dump bodies with 8 inch boards on the sides you cannot see over the top. call it five foot six. Total is around 10 feet. Many trailers are built higher in case of the need to hail lighter materials such as bark mulch. Call the sides of that type 12 feet. The trailers that are used to haul municipal solid waste are often a good twelve feet or higher. You should get specifics in advance.

Thanks all, I have a call in to try and find out about the specific trailer. I didn't realize there was that much variation. Thanks, Sam

Ours is about 12 foot high. 7720 combine will just clear the top with about 6 inches, and can not get to close or it will hit the bottom of the auger on level ground. Has 7 foot sides. Was an old coal bucket.
