Any one know how it will efect Northwest Ohio for driving. I plan on being driving due west at about the time the total is over 200 mile directly south of me. Wanting to haul things out to the Portland, Indiana show that starts wed. Usually wear prescrioption sun glasses when driving during the day. I cannot find out anything about how it will be in this part of the country. Sun high enough it will not affect driving west? Or get to dark to see on the road?

Leroy,

You likely won't even notice any change.
............... unless you are in the direct path of the total eclipse; then it will get dark for a couple minutes.

Probably won't even bother you. Light may dim a bit.

You have to realize sunlight still spills around the moon and it does not get as dark as at night.

You've got headlights don't you?

I don't see the eclipse having any effect on driving conditions.

You may encounter some distracted drivers trying to look and drive, and may have some traffic congestion after it's over, if the predictions are true. I think the predictions of traffic jams are going to turn out to be over rated.

What I was conserned with was if it would have that dangerous level of light interfering with seeing like looking into the sun just befor sunset. And the road is just a small state highway part of the way and county road the rest of the way. Not much traffic at any time.

If you'll be driving during the eclipse, watch out for vehicles parked on the shoulder of the road. Drivers are being cautioned to completely pull off the road if stopping to watch the eclipse, but there will always be a few that won't.

I don't know I heard yesterday that an expert named Chicken Little said they thought the sky might fall during the Eclipse, but then again the Cow Jumped over the Moon that time and nothing
much happened but strangely couldn't find my dish and spoon the next day.

It may get a little darker than usual (like when its heavy overcast with clouds), but if it gets too dark to see comfortably with your prescription sunglasses, switch them out for the regular pair you brought along in your shirt pocket.

I guess I don't need to thinl about the brightness around the edges being too bright for my glasses. You know how it is to drive directly into the sun just before dusk and the sun blinds you, Just hoped it would not be like that.
