Does anyone have a scan of the manuals for an M&W P-400 dyno that they could send to me or a link for them? I'm going to look at one next week and would like to know a little about it before I get there.

Also, what could I expect to pay for one that only has the 540 rpm pto shaft and has been sitting outside for about 2 years? It was supposed to be in working condition when it was put outside.

I have been around several M&W dynos, and they only had one shaft. If used on 1000 rpm PTO use a 21 spline to 6 spline adapter. One input
shaft in the front of the Dyno is for PTO the other is for direct engine connection ie. Engine rotation is opposite rotation of PTO.

They came with two shaft front halves. One had the 1000 rpm splines. Ours has both. Be very careful using an adapter. The highest HP rating I've ever seen on an adapter was 125 HP.

I have an M&W 400 series dyno. Has 1 shaft
for engines and the other for pto. The
horsepower dial has multiple readings. It
will show horsepower readings on pto rpm
540, 620, 1000 and 1120 pto. Ranging from
125 hp on 540 to 250 on 1120. I have the
books with mine and very few tractors
actually have a 540 rpm speed pto. For
instance : a U moline has an pto speed of
about 585 at rated rpm. Nice to have those
books
