Anyone going to Oakley, Mi on Saturday?

I'll be firing a boiler at the north end of the steam barn. Coffee is on in the AM. I'm the tall guy in the IH cap. Ron

I will be there, try to spot you. My wife and two grown daughters will be sheparding
me around. Most likely wearing a t shirt with Browning logo and a CIH hat. Anyone
wants to say hello, love to meet you!

Unfortunately I'm going to miss it this year.
It's a shame too.
We've been there every year for a while now.

My cousin and I went yesterday. Of course, the flea market is a big draw. He found a new seat for his garden tractor and some wood cutting Sawzall blades. I found a coupla little things. I talked to the guy that rebuilt my mag and carb for my '50 JD B, Dale Thompson. Told him my neighbor has around a '67 2400 Ford 3 cyl and I saw he had the Petronix ignition kits for sale. Since the Ford was always stumbling and missing, and seemingly under powered, I asked him if one of the electronic ignition kits would help? He said, "No, they have junk Holly carbs on them. I have rebuilt a few of them and had them work, and some have not. I would not rebuild a Holly again. He needs to buy a new Zenith, depending on his model, running from $500-600 to fix his problem". You never know what you're gonna find out at a old tractor show! Dale, from Perry, MI, is one of the most knowledgeable and honest men I have ever met. He is a retired tool and die maker from General Motors.

He's got it right for the most part about the Holley carbs John. They get worn out internally in the accelerator pump stuff, and will stumble. I had a 3000 that was like that with a Holley, had a Zenith on the shelf that I put on it. Never ran that good when it was new I'll bet.
