Computor problems

I was just reading on YT and touched the mouse to mover to a different section and that quick I lost the right half of my compoutr screen. What happened and how do I get it back? Everything is on left half of page. Windows 7 but using Firefox.

Sounds like you might have accidentally hit the Minimize button in the upper right corner of Firefox. If so, then you can click on that center button again (the one with 2 squares in it, between an _ and an X) and the screen should get larger again.

If it's the entire screen (Windows included), then your monitor might be going out - but from what you describe, I would guess the Minimize button.

Got it back. I know when it happened I felt the mouse do something but did not know what. Just was enough from touching it to move it that did the dirty.

It's a wonder mine doesn't do something strange. I have to slam the Onn mouse on the desk every couple of minutes to wake it up. I've gone into the mouse settings in the computer but there isn't a setting to make the stupid thing stay on.

Maybe you should do what I do. Stuff like that drives me crazy. I usually make it worse. For 20.00 a month for a computer dummy like me, I have a computer repair person straighten out my computer if I have a problem. He signs on to my computer. I have to authorize his entrance into my computer. It's well worth the money for me. Stan

There's a very tiny program called Mouse Jiggler that I used to use on a different PC. It can work in the background, but some PC's might do better with its small icon in sight. It keeps your screen from going into sleep mode, as well as the rest of your PC. You can find the program here, or do a web search:

You can also go into Control Panel and stop your PC from ever entering sleep mode. Don't know if it's possible with newer than Windows 7, as it seems more and more these small choices are being taken away from users. When disabled, if you want your screen dark, turn the monitor off. When you want the PC to rest, turn the PC off. Otherwise, the PC and monitor are always wide awake - and of course, using up precious energy.

If the window [i:654c4848f0]resizes down[/i:654c4848f0] for any reason, then here are three options available to maximize the window.

The first option is to click the [b:654c4848f0]Maximize[/b:654c4848f0] button in the top right corner of the window.

The second option is to double-click anywhere in the title bar.

The third option is to right click anywhere in the title bar and select the [b:654c4848f0]Maximize[/b:654c4848f0] option.

Hope this helps.

You can also put your mouse pointer at the edge of any down-sized window...
and it will turn to a horizontal bar with arrows at both ends - then click/hold your left mouse button and you can "drag" the edge of that window to make it larger.

I often use this resizing method to be able to see two documents side by side when I am working.
