A bit of spit and polish for the show?

Unfortunatly it will take more than just spit and polish. This is the Fordson my dad mounted a wood gasifier unit on, much like the units he used in his home country of Holland during WW 2. It has not been run for 3 or 4 years, and one of the hard to find 19 inch front tires needs replacing. Also, mice had the idea it would make a good home. At least the fuel has not gone stale, haha!
The Blyth Steam Show is in two weeks, we have shown it there before, but the International Plowing Match and Farm Machinery Show is in one month and only about 30 miles away, hosted by our county this year, and attendance there could be over 125,000. Would make a unique exhibit if I can get it running ( on wood) for the Match.
See you there! Ben

Never seen one, only heard of them. Older fella near me , came to Canada in 53 , told me all about the tractors and even the buses in Holland using gasification units for power, when he was a kid during WW2.
What town is the ploughing match near this year ? I haven't been to one in a decade. Bruce

Walton, east of Blyth and North of Seaforth. Just about in the middle of
Huron County. Ben

Years ago my uncle built a wood gasifier and would use it to run a hit and miss engine belted to a buzz saw to cut wood at shows. He even mounted it in the back of his pickup and drove from his house in CT to here in NY on wood gas (I84), said it didn't do well on the hills. He had no plans just cobbled something up. He was quite well known in the engine hobby until he became ill and passed a few years back.

Nice history Ben. Check with Tire Craft in Clinton, the distribute for Miller Tire. Millers website lists a 6.00 x 19
