How about when you are out trimming those branches that are in the way. Very big pair of lopes and you power cut through with the force of two boys and a man right on to the side of your finger between the handle and the ratchet mechanism. Kinda turns purple and Really hurts. Was a good half hour kinda hurt.

I never used one in the service, we had m16's, but my dad had one and taught me how to use it. He was WWII vet and after he described it to me I knew that I really didn't want a M1 thumb!
